Wonderful Team Member Readership Award

Two nights ago I opened my email and found that my 2 month old blog has received a 2nd award—Wonderful Team Member Readership Award!

I’m not entirely sure what this award means but my guess would be, it means that my post sparks interest in my reader. Thus the firework graphics Much appreciated Petrel41. Thank you for passing this award to me, I’m so thrilled!

The Rules :
If you are one of the nominees for the Wonderful Team Member Readership Award you must do the following:
▪               Post the award logo on your blog.
▪               Complete the phrase : “ A great reader is…”
▪               Answer the 8 following questions below.
▪               Nominate bloggers you think deserves this award.
▪               Contact the bloggers you nominate to let them know and to link them back to your post so they can read “The Rules,” too.

One of the rules for acceptance of this award states that I must complete this phrase: “A great reader is…”

Well, in my humble opinion, a great reader is someone with a great imagination, someone curious, and someone who believes that he/she can learn something from everyone.

Speaking of which, I would like to thank all my readers for stopping by my little spot in the blogosphere, especially for your comments, likes and inputs.  I love love love them all!

The Questions :

1.  Why do you blog ?

If I was asked this question last September  I would have answered “ I don’t know, I just signed up at wordpress one lazy afternoon because its free so I thought, hmmm why not share my artwork (my very first post ) to people and see what they think.”   I was surprised at the number of people interested in my post and about page so after that I’m hooked.    Today if I were to answer this question again I will have to say “Well first, I love to share my creativity and experiences.  Second, I love reading about other people’s creativity and experiences hoping to learn something from them. ”

2.  If you were trapped on a desert island, what book, DVD, food, cartoon character, and childhood game would you bring?

Book :  Calculus ( just kidding, I actually have no idea )
DVD : recorded family videos.  I never get tired of watching them.
Cartoon character : Either Genie or Magic carpet ( from Aladdin )
Food : sandwiches
Childhood game : scrabble

3.   Share a funny joke or one-liner

I live in Spain for a while in a town called Macarena, just outside Seville.  Not a great place.  No need to make a song and dance about it.  – by Alex Horne

4.   What is your favorite thing about yourself?  I’m very forgiving

5.   What one word best describes you? Quiet or Shy

6.  If you could have a lifetime supply of any candy/candy bar, what would it be?   Any brand of good quality Dark chocolate

7.   What fictional character do you relate to most? This week I’m George Bailey from It’s a wonderful Life.

8.   If you were to write the story of your life, what would you call it? Lets Face it.

So many blogs to nominate so little time.  So I’ve decided to nominate at least 5 recent blogs I’ve read. I have learned a great deal from reading their posts and I’m sure you will too.

The Chatter Blog

One Lovely Blog

What an honour to be nominated by an artistic poet and photographer Esenga.  Thank you very much for enjoying and sharing my posts.

As per rules of receiving this lovely award.  Here’s more interesting stuff about me:

1. I hate shopping and people seem to find that weird.  I’m just not into fashion stuff.  You’ll more likely see me in my blue jeans, simple sleeveless shirt, my 2 year old rubber shoes with no make up on.

2. I envy people who can write beautiful poems and I wish I had that talent.  I only wrote 2 poems in my whole life.  One of them when I was 13 years old.  It’s about having a twin.  I got this idea when my mom told me that when Audrey ( my twin) and I were little, we like to bully my older sister ( J) but we often get away with it because J could not recognize which of us was the culprit.  ( but to be truly honest with you its A’s fault ) Here it is :

My Twin & I — All Mixed Up

I met Audrey, Audrey met me

Audrey was me, I was Audrey

You kicked her, but she kicked me

This is fun you said, but unfair to me

I look like what you look like

but feel not what you feel like

I will always be me,

and you will always be you.

What would you do if you were me,

to prove that you were you?

We were identical twins when we were very young but not anymore.  People say I look more like my younger sister ( C ) now.  I guess C got her wish, she have always wanted to have a twin.

3. I play the flute and my favorite piece is from the Ice Castle film( Through the Eyes of Love )

4.  Before my pregnancy I rarely eat chocolate.  After Celestine arrived, I became a certified chocoholic.

5. My favorite sport is running and swimming because they can really tone your body, especially the butterfly stroke.

6.  I love Halloween.  The ironic part is I hate watching horror films because somehow they stick to my head for as long as 2 years before I can start to recover from the shock.

7.  I breastfed my daughter for almost 6 months, after that she never really learned to drink form the bottle or a sippy cup.  She drank milk using a cup with a handle after that.

Here are 4 of my lovely blog nominees :

Boomie Bol — a kind hearted and talented honest to goodness poet.

elleturner4 — she has the cutest blog.  Make sure to hover over her photos.

Bento Break –  Interesting topics and scrumptuous recipes.

LordHalcion – Beautiful life lesson poems accompanied by his beautiful paintings.

The rules that come with accepting this nomination are the following:
1. Thank the person who nominated you and link back to them in your post (and put in the logo);
2. Share 7 things about yourself;
3. Nominate bloggers you admire;
4. Contact your chosen nominees to let them know.
