Fried Bread Topped With Minced Shrimps

Fried Bread for breakfast?  Ewww I just hate the sound of that.  It’s almost equal to having doughnut for breakfast…so bad.   I normally have a simple soup or eggs or oatmeal for breakfast but the other day I treated myself to this very fried meal that my sister swore to be worth the calories.  And I’ll have to tell you, it is ! so I’m sharing this with you.

Ingredients :

  • About 3 slices of white bread
  • 150 grams  shrimps
  • 1/2 egg, beaten
  • 15ml soya sauce
  • 15 ml oyster sauce
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • pinch coriander powder
  • 2 tsp finely chopped garlic
  • ½ medium size onion
  • white pepper to taste

Procedure : 

1 Step 1 : Prepare the shrimps by mincing them in a food processor. Place the minced shrimps in a bowl then add the egg, soy sauce, oyster sauce, sugar, coriander powder, onion, garlic, and white pepper.

2 Step 2 : Prepare the bread by cutting them into 6 equal pieces each ( you will have 18 small pcs ). Toast them.

3Step 3 : Place about ½ a tablespoon of the mixture on top of the bread slices. Garnish with a slice of chili on top. Heat olive oil in a wok/saucepan on medium heat.  When the oil is hot, fry the bread spread-side down until golden brown, then turn.  Drain and serve hot and crispy.4I imagine that this consisted of maybe a third or half of your daily caloric intake, but If you think you’d feel guilty about eating all this, pair this with some fresh salad greens drizzled with light vinegar dressing hehehe 🙂 not that it’ll make any difference 🙂
